Michael Just writes book-length and short non-fiction in the inspirational, metaphysical and nature writing genres. He also writes short and book-length fiction in the genres of literary, mainstream/contemporary, mystery/suspense, science fiction, fantasy and horror. An amateur naturalist with a mystical bent, his inspirational and metaphysical posts, essays and books can be downloaded for free on this website and his nature and other inspirational posts and essays can be downloaded for free on his other websites. His short story anthology, Canyon Calls, was published by Zumaya Publications in 2009. His writing has appeared in The Chicago Sun Times, and his short stories have recently been published by The Scarlet Review, The Worlds Within, the 96th of October and Hellbound Books. He received an honorable mention award from Writer’s Digest in 2011 for short fiction.
Michael informs his writing with a wide range of professional and personal experience, including as an attorney, psychotherapist, adjunct professor, lecturer and actor in film and theatre. He has traveled extensively throughout the American West, with an emphasis on the canyon country of the Southwest. A Chicago native, he now resides in the Four Corners region of the Southwest.
